As you may know the spring market is here!  

In the past, the spring was the time to go house hunting; you would kiss a few frog, make an offer and move into your new home.  Well, times have changes!  Inventories are very low in our part of the country, Northeastern Massachusetts. As a matter of fact, in Essex County inventories are just hovering around 3 months of inventory.  If you check out the chart below you will realize that this is NOT A GOOD Market because we are well below the 6 month mark.


Buyers have been pent-up over the past few years--saving for a down payment, finding a job that can support a home, getting married, just a few of the many reasons folks wait to purchase a home.  There are record numbers of buyers in the market looking for their new home.  This is creating bidding wars over properties.  

According to the chart below this is a most difficult time for first time home-buyers and mostly for move-up buyers! My educated guess is these homes are in the price range of $350k to $550k.



Since now is still a good time to purchase a home due to lower interest rates, see the projection table below, it may be difficult to find your dream home.


So with this being said, you really need to use a professional to help you find a home North of Boston in Essex County on the North Shore.  Building a strategy may be just what you need to have the ability to purchase the home of your dreams.
