Our Property Taxes are on the Rise!
Homeowners can expect to pay more in property taxes this year! According to The Boston Globe, we can expect that the average bill for a single-family home will increase by $206 in 2016. This is a 3.9% increase over last year; WOW! and this looks like this: last year's average tax bill for a single-family home was $5232 and this year it is $5438,according to a Globe analysis "of 328 of the stat's 351 communities for which comparable data were available".
"Since 2006, the increase in property taxes has far outpaced the increase in property values, with average bills rising 42% while property values have dropped 0.7% according to the Globe's analysis of 328 towns and cities."
